Over 15 years ago Second Baptist voted to adopt an unreached people group for 20 years. We are making a concerted effort to do our best to get the Gospel to them in these next five years. I have prayed for them for many years. Here's a sample of the prayer requests we receive from personnel who live among them.
Pray for a group that professed faith but then said they no longer wanted to believe. They recently said they had changed their mind and started studying the Bible again.
Pray for a new believer who has returned to her village (from college), where no other believers live. Pray her soon-to-be husband would come to know Jesus.
Pray for a new believer whose dad saw her reading the Bible. He threatened to burn it. Pray she will not become discouraged.
Pray for a village with many temples, shrines, sacred trees, and other spiritual paraphernalia, and no known believers.
